Dashboard overview

The Dashboard is the default UI for social learning. It can be replaced with the Learning Carousel.

Components of the dashboard

A. The Dashboard tile — lists items the learner has visited.

B. The Learn tile — provides access to the library of content on the site. It also contains:

  • My Interests — lists items belonging to the Professional Interests the learner selected when first entering the site. They can be adjusted by selecting Change my interests. Items can be further limited by the dropdown filters.
  • Peer Recommended — lists items recommended to the learner by another user in the system.
  • Business Recommended — lists items assigned to a user via Assign Learning.

Filters let users drill down by status and other criteria. These may differ depending on what's configured for the site.

C. The New Courses tile — links to the newest items added to the system.

D. The People tile — links to the experts and leaderboard screen where user progress and points are summarised. This screen:

  • Summarises points and ranking for all Professional Interests.
  • Lets you search for users to view individual progress.
  • Lets you filter by interest, which filters user points and rankings.
  • Summarises your own rank and points relative to all learners on the site.
  • Lists points by Learn, Teach, and Share category.
  • Lists learners by rank and points.

E. The Challenges tile — challenges are a set of engagement tasks learners must complete before a deadline to be eligible for rewards. See Challenges.

F. The Add & Share tile — provides learners with an interface to submit learning material they'd like to include in the library for other learners. See Add & Share.

G. The Experts and Leaderboards tile — links to the experts and leaderboards screen (covered above under The People tile).

H. Yammer Groups — if a Yammer integration is set up, this tile links to Yammer.
