Supported browsers and platforms¶
Janison recommends the specifications below for all Janison applications. Use them when you plan a test event, so test-takers sit their tests on a combination Janison supports.
Important
New operating system and browser versions released shortly before an event have limited support. Stay on the versions listed in the Janison release notes for the duration of the event.
Browser-based applications¶
Janison Insights browser-based applications work on a range of stable operating system versions for desktops, laptops and tablets.

Suggested removal
The WordPress source qualified the Windows 10 row with "until end of life 24 October 2025". That date has passed, so the qualifier has been dropped rather than published as though it were still upcoming. Please confirm whether Windows 10 is still supported at all — if it isn't, the row should come out.
Devices smaller than a standard tablet — below a screen resolution of 1024 × 768 — are not supported.
Operating systems¶
- Check the operating system vendor's own documentation for minimum hardware requirements.
- Janison doesn't support beta, developer or other alternative builds.
- Janison doesn't support ChromeOS Flex.
Operating system versions outside this range can be negotiated in advance.
Web browsers¶
- Janison supports the most recent browsers shown in the table. Use the most recent versions for better security, performance and stability.
- Cookies and JavaScript must be enabled.
- Janison doesn't support beta or alternative builds of these browsers.

Janison Replay¶
Download Replay for Android from Google Play, and for iPadOS from the App Store. Your Janison account manager provides the installers for the other operating systems.
Except for Windows 10, Replay runs on the current and previously released stable operating system versions listed in the table above.
Replay doesn't support Windows devices in tablet or touch mode. Janison supports them only as desktop devices with a physical keyboard and a mouse or trackpad.
Not all device and operating system combinations support Replay's offline and resilient delivery modes. Contact your Janison account manager to confirm a particular combination.
Our pledge¶
Janison does its best to ensure test-takers can access and participate in assessments and learning.
Given the volume and variety of devices on the market, Janison supports only the current and previously released stable operating system versions listed above. We update these guidelines as required, and reserve the right to change them — where possible, we give reasonable notice of any material change.

Settings¶
No tenant setting changes the list of supported browsers and platforms — the list reflects what Janison tests and supports, not a configurable option.
Related settings that affect how a test-taker's browser is allowed to connect are configured at Settings > Secure Delivery Settings.
Allow to use Safe Exam Browser — permits test-takers to sit a test in Safe Exam Browser as a locked-down alternative to Replay.
Enable Safe Exam Browser Validation — validates that the connecting client really is Safe Exam Browser before the test launches.
Use Safe Exam Browser Agent and Safe Exam Browser agent (Regular expression) — set the user-agent pattern used to identify Safe Exam Browser.
