Questions

The Questions section of your marking project shows the assessment items assigned for marking. Only items that require human marking appear here — automatically scored items are excluded.

Human-marked item types

The following item types require manual marking and will appear in the marking project:

• Extended text — open-ended written responses.
• File upload — documents, images, or other files submitted by test-takers.
• Drawing interaction — responses submitted as drawings or diagrams.
• Speaking — audio responses.
• Text entry (human-marked) — short text responses configured for manual scoring.

Depending on your site configuration, items may be referred to as "questions" or "items" — these terms are interchangeable in Insights.

What you can do in this section

From the Questions section of a marking project you can:

• View which items are included in the project and their marking scheme details.
• Review the marking rubric and scheme components for each item.
• Confirm that all items requiring marking have been included before transitioning the project to Marking status.

Before you start marking

Make sure every item that needs to be marked is visible in the project. If items are missing, check that:

• The assessment event is linked to the marking project.
• The item is configured as a human-marked type in the test.
• The correct test is selected in the marking project settings.
